San Juan City Academic Senior High School was established through the immense support of the City Government of San Juan and the persistent efforts of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of San Juan. The school officially opened its doors on June 13, 2016, initially operating at the Pinaglabanan Elementary School building with a pioneering batch of 300 students. At its inception, it offered the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track alongside the Academic track, which features four distinct strands: Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), General Academic Strand (GAS), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Following a thorough evaluation of all requirements, the school’s establishment was formally approved through Regional Order No. 11, s. 2018, in accordance with Section 7 of Republic Act No. 9155 and DepEd Order No. 51, s. 2015. Furthermore, pursuant to City Ordinance No. 21, s. 2017—“An Ordinance Creating the San Juan City Academic Senior High School, in Barangay St. Joseph, City of San Juan, Metro Manila”—the institution was officially named San Juan City Academic Senior High School. This legal milestone solidified the school's identity and paved the way for its continued growth within the division.
Today, the school is located along A. Luna St., Brgy. Rivera, San Juan City, within the vicinity of the San Juan City Integrated School, utilizing 14 instructional rooms and 4 non-instructional rooms to deliver the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum. In line with the current thrusts of DepEd’s K-to-12 Program, the institution continuously develops and hones its learners' knowledge and skills. Through this dedicated preparation, the school ensures its graduates are fully qualified and ready for the curriculum's four vital exits: higher education, employment, middle-level skills development, and entrepreneurship.
