On July 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., a training entitled "Smarter Lesson Planning: Harnessing the ILAW Framework and AI to Improve Learning Outcomes" was successfully conducted, with Dr. Jermel R. Diaz serving as the resource speaker. The training aimed to enhance educators' knowledge and skills in developing effective lesson plans through the integration of the ILAW Framework and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The program formally commenced with an opening prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem through an audio-visual presentation (AVP). This was followed by the opening remarks delivered by Mr. John Paolo S. Alad, who warmly welcomed all participants and emphasized the significance of continuous professional development among educators. He underscored the importance of embracing innovative teaching strategies and emerging technologies to create more engaging, learner-centered, and outcomes-based instruction.
Following the opening program, Ms. Janice Dacutanan conducted the attendance checking to ensure the presence of all registered participants. She also presented the webinar guidelines, reminding everyone to observe proper online etiquette, actively participate in the discussions, and maintain professionalism throughout the activity. The highlight of the program was the presentation of Dr. Jermel R. Diaz, who delivered an informative and engaging discussion on the effective use of the ILAW Framework in lesson planning and demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence (AI) thorough Googel Gemini, ChatGPT and other learning informative tool integrated into instructional design. He discussed practical strategies for aligning learning objectives, instructional activities, assessments, and learner needs while utilizing Al tools to improve the efficiency, creativity, and quality of lesson preparation. Furthermore, he emphasized that Al should be viewed as a supportive instructional tool that enhances, rather than replaces, the professional judgment, creativity, and pedagogical expertise of teachers.
Throughout the training participants actively engaged in the discussions by asking insightful questions, sharing classroom experiences, and exchanging best practices on the practical application of the concepts presented. The interactive question-and-answer portion fostered collaborative learning and encouraged meaningful reflection on current instructional practices, allowing participants to explore ways of effectively integrating the ILAW Framework and Al into their own teaching contexts. The program concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Mr. Marvin Calaonoc, who expressed his sincere appreciation to Dr. Jermel R. Diaz for sharing his expertise, practical insights, and valuable experiences. He also thanked all participants for their enthusiastic participation and encouraged them to apply the knowledge, strategies, and innovations gained from the webinar to enhance teaching effectiveness and improve student learning outcomes.
The training was a meaningful and successful professional development activity. It equipped educators with practical knowledge and relevant strategies for integrating the ILAW Framework and Artificial Intelligence into lesson planning, enabling them to design more innovative, learner-centered, and outcomes-based instructional experiences. The activity further reinforced the importance of lifelong professional learning, collaboration, and the responsible use of technology in advancing quality education and promoting excellence in teaching and learning.
